Foxtrot, Uniform, Charlie…….Cancer

A few days ago I got a private Facebook message from a new friend. I have exchanged a couple of messages with her back in March of this year, when she told me that she was a fellow renal cell cancer warrior. She checked on me and I asked about her, brother and sister in the battle. She is a regular reader of this blog. This latest message asked for my address. She said she wanted to send me a little something before we leave for Texas. We are leaving on Saturday for a Monday morning appointment with Dr. Lance Pagliaro at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

So I sent my address and thanked her for caring. What a nice thing. The envelope arrived today. The olive drab shirt plopped out onto my desk and when I unfolded it and read the message on the front this baby became my favorite T-shirt. What a wonderful world we live in today. I’ve never met her (she lives nearby). Yet she knows the walk I’m on, and she knows that a wounded spirit can be buoyed by such a thoughtful gift. Jennifer, consider me properly and perfectly buoyed!

I wanted to show off this shirt, but another purpose of this post is to test the performance of the blog’s email notification system, which is supposed to be fixed. I need it to be working well in advance of the news I’ll be getting beginning on Monday.

We’ll be posting as we meet our team at M. D. Anderson. Thanks again, Jennifer.

    Now you’re talking my language!

Ok, anyone that knows me knows I HATE the “F” word. I think if you have even a fraction of a grasp of the beauty of the English language you can do better! HOWEVER this is highly exceptional!

Blog e-mail is working for me and glad of it as we want to stay close. Have to admit, took me a minute or two on the t-shirt. Wear it proudly. Sorry you are continuing to have this battle, but we know you ARE the WARRIOR. We will be praying for some damn GOOD news. Peggy said she and Paul sure loved seeing you two the other night.
